Do we really want – and can we survive – another four years of “President Trump?”

The man is a business failure, a liar, a dictator-wanna be and the only thing standing between him and the destruction of our democracy is you, and me, and we better show up on election day in November

LET’S JUST SAY, for the purpose of starting the thinking process, that you really, really want President No. 45 to be President 47.

The question is then: WHY?

It may be because you think Joe Biden is too old, too feeble, the economy is not to your liking, you hate the idea of abortion, or you want the southern border closed permanently.

It can’t be because you think Trump is a thoughtful, truth-spouting businessman with a sterling history of business successes. Or it can’t be because you know in your heart that Trump is going to take care of the middle class over the nation’s coven of Richie Richs and big business, protect the status quo of senior citizens, or protect women’s rights.

Actually, you might think that, but you could not be more wrong than if you painted a donkey white with black stripes and think you are going to make a killing selling it to a zoo as a zebra.

In voting for president, facts should matter.

First, Trump’s not a self-made, rich entrepreneur.

  1. He received more than $400 million from his father over decades.
  2. Six Trump companies have filed for bankruptcy.
  3.  The Trump Foundation was ordered to be closed due to mismanagement of funds
  4.  Trump University was sued for fraud and its founder had to pay “students” millions in restitution, and it was ordered closed by court order.
  5. He ordered the payment of $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels and $150,000 to Playboy model Karen McDougal to cover up adulterous affairs.
  6. He has been ordered to pay more than $88,000,000 to a woman he is accused of sexually assaulting … and then defaming her twice by accusing her of lying and calling her names.
  7. He claims to have Christian values but does not attend any religious services, once referred to a book in the Bible as “Two Corinthians”, caustically ignores Jesus’ teachings about caring for the sick, poor, immigrants, and goes out of his way to bully and resort to juvenile name-calling of anyone who disagrees with him.
  8. He is currently facing four separate criminal trials (91 charges in four jurisdictions). Charges include taking, hiding, and lying about secret government files; trying to pressure state officials to change voting results to favor his 2020 re-election campaign; fraudulently inflating or devaluing real estate holding to get better interest rates or avoid taxes; and participation in acts of insurrection against constitutional action to certify an election.
  9. A plethora of close aides have run afoul of the law due to personal fealty to Trump. The list of those sentenced to jail terms includes: Michael Cohen, Steve Bannon, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, Alan Weisselberg, and Peter Navarro.
  10. More than 1,100 of his followers have been charged, fined, or sentenced to jail time for following his lead and participating in an insurrection movement at the Capitol.
  11. Millions of dollars were spent to build a wall to slow immigration. And, he tried to bar members of a specific religion, and visitors from specific countries from entering the U.S.; he separated children from parents at the southern border to deter asylum-seeking immigrants from coming to the country.

TAKE SOME Google-time and research and read: Bottom line is that Trump is extremely dangerous. Trump does not believe in laws and rules. He wants to be a lawless dictator. He has said as much on his “Truth Social” site.

His hand-picked ex-attorney general Bill Barr, recently said, “He is a person who is detached from reality. Even with the trials and other pressures, Trump is not capable of breaking down, of being cowed and/or broken. If anything, Trump will go down in flames if he goes down at all. Trump is an extreme narcissist who will destroy anyone who has ever done anything to hurt him, to oppose him, or defy him.”

Powerful words from Barr, whom Trump in 2020 praised Barr as “being a real straight shooter. We have a great attorney general and he’s working very hard.” These words from a man who just months later called “my attorney general” a “gutless pig” after Barr compared

Trump to a “defiant nine-year-old kid.”

Breathe. Stop and consider for a moment just what type of people believe that everything happening to Donald Trump is bad luck, a witch hunt, fake news, can be blamed on incompetent or disloyal underlings (whom he picked), and the “Radical Left”.

Oh, and don’t-forget-Trump’s-kitchen-sink catchall target, the media.

Notice that all the people who believe Trump’s bigly doses of verbal field fritters are not discernibly different from the Big Boss, himself.

Each of us has to focus on things we can control and work to create positive change.

MICKEY RIVERS, former centerfielder with the New York Yankees, said it best when asked why he approached life like he didn’t have a care in the world.

“I don’t worry about things I can’t do something about because if I can’t do anything about it, why worry? And I don’t worry about things I can do something about because if I can do something about it, there’s no need to worry.”

Following this philosophy is one way that all can stay mainly positive!

In 2024, there are two things we all can do to make a difference in our nation: Independently research all candidates and issues…and vote as if the future of America depends on it.

Because it does!
